GSCA 2011 National Specialty Update

A Note from the GSCA President

Greetings All,

Final arrangements and last minute details for the 2011 National Specialty are keeping all of the board members and specialty committee members on our toes. We are looking forward to creating a memorable event for all attending. Like all specialties and club events the generosity of the members has always provided the necessary funding to make these events a success. The downturn in our nation’s economy has played a pivotal role in this year’s specialty plans as donations have been way down, and we are finding ourselves in a position to really pare down expenses to a minimum and keep a very close eye on the budget. Any and all donations will be appreciated, so please contact Sheila Lietz, Specialty Treasurer, [email protected], (815) 579-1151, if you can make a donation. Auction items can be sent to Wendy Sheffler, 1819 Charity Court, Fenton, MO 63026.

Consistent with past National Specialties, fundraising by other organizations will not take place at this National Specialty or its associated venues.

We encourage everyone to attend, bring your cameras and your best “I can help” attitude and roll up your sleeves and have a ball as the finest Giant Schnauzers in the world are presented, paraded and saluted for their beauty, conformation, grace, obedience  and athletic ability; and after all, isn’t that what it’s all about?

For those not making the trip, plans are being made to have daily results posted to the GSCA website and “2011 GSCA National” Facebook page.

The 2011 National Specialty Premium Is Now Available

August 1, 2011

The 2011 National Specialty premium is available at: http://caper-dogs.com/GSCA11PremWeb.pdf From that site the entry form can be filled in, then printed and mailed to the secretary. The premium is also being published in Giant Steps and should be in every member’s mailbox in the next 7-14 days. Closing date for entries is September 14.
